Work Experience

NICERC NICERC – STEM Education Intern: May – August 2014

Program Overview

“The NICERC internship program gives college students the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in engineering education. During the ten-week internship, selected students work with many of NICERC’s educational programs and design new curricula for K-12 grade levels. Additionally, interns support Cyber Discovery, a national program for cyber education, as well as the Education Discovery Forum, a professional development workshop for leading K-12 teachers in STEM education. In July, interns travel with the NICERC team to the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) annual Conference.”

Job Responsibilities

  • Wrote and developed the Cyber Science Curricula that focuses on the integration of Computer Science, Liberal Arts, and Engineering.
  • Assisted in facilitating professional development workshops for middle school and high school teachers.
  • Worked with Subject Matter Experts on the National Cyber Discovery Program.

Google – Software Engineering Intern: May – August 2013

Program Overview

“At Google, our Engineering interns are key players in our daily innovation and have the opportunity to make big contribution. Intern projects can include working on advanced-retrieval algorithms, massive scalability and storage solutions, and large-scale applications that enrich the user experience.”

Job Responsibilities

  • Built front-end features for the Google Earth embedded map viewer.
  • Worked closely with the Google Computer Science Summer Institute program to create a real-time student assessment tool.
  • Attended weekly standup meetings with the project manager and team about progress.

Google – Engineering Practicum Intern: May – August 2012

Program Overview

The Google Engineering Practicum is Google’s internship program for rising juniors studying Computer Science. The program includes a software project, skills-based training, and professional development.

Job Responsibilities

  • Fixed front-end bugs for Google+ Events, specifically focused on desktop, mobile, and email notifications to provide users a better first interaction with Google+ Events
  • Responsible for attending daily standup meetings with the project manager and team about progress.

Google – Freshman Engineering Practicum Intern: June – August 2011

Program Overview

The Google Freshman Engineering Practicum is Google’s internship program for rising sophomores studying Computer Science.

Job Responsibilities

  • Developed automated test cases using JavaScript to decrease the time it took to manually conduct regression tests.
  • Worked closely with the mobile search team on iOS UI test automation for the Google Search App.
  • Responsible for attending daily standup meetings with the project manager and team about progress.
